Self To Soul: A Vision of Psychology and Spirituality Book - Front Cover

Self To Soul: A Vision of Psychology and Spirituality Book - Back Cover

‘SELF TO SOUL: A Vision of Psychology and Spirituality’ presents a nondenominational spiritual theory of psychology. It is a guide to healing, actualization, and relationship, based on core principles that have been present in almost all belief systems throughout the world and recorded time. Spirituality is also assumed to be primarily experiential; it is “living” philosophy.

‘SELF TO SOUL: A Vision of Psychology and Spirituality’ addresses questions such as: What is spiritual awakening and commitment? How do we integrate a spiritual perspective into our psychological being? Do concepts such as “self-esteem” and “dysfunction” take on a different meaning when an individual seriously commits to a spiritual path? Are there distinct “spiritual” emotions and perceptions? What is the difference in an identity based on the pursuit of “self” versus an awareness of “soul”? How does spirituality relate to religion, metaphysics, and science?

Most importantly, how does opening to God or the greater spiritual totality transform our experience? As the individual commits to “living” the core principles and begins to translate these into attitude and behavior, there is a positive and often transformative experiential shift. From a subjective vantage point, the universal core principles intuitively speak to our lives. They show us how and where we can find spiritual connection and God in our day-to-day existence.

God, as Universe addresses how we, as individuals, relate to God or the spiritual totality, always more meaningful and powerful than ourselves. Like a child to a parent, when the individual is receptive to God or the greater totality, there develops a strong foundation of spiritual identity and esteem. We also introduce a new and loving caretaking relationship with God or the spiritual unity into our lives. This has profound implications for healing, support, and a sense of belonging on the psychological level of existence.

God, as Source deals with the individual’s path of spiritual evolution - and teaches and empowers through the prism of our psychological experience. How do we discover and then keep on the path that is spiritually correct and uniquely ours? How do we find our spiritual individuality in terms of personal meaning and unique purpose? How do we actualize that purpose - and maximize the power of God or the greater unity in our individual lives?

God, as Dance addresses how we can exist in the world and with other people in the most fulfilling way for everyone. This encourages a view of human existence as organic, not mechanical. The living of life occurs in a progressive journey of cycles and bonds of spirit, unfolding “in the moment.” God, as Dance involves the playing out of spiritually based relationships, both one-on-one, and within the groups and collectives to which we belong.
